ABOUT US

Our mission is to elect progressive Democrats at the local, state, and national levels.

The Coast Democratic Club membership includes registered Democrats and progressive activists from Westport to Elk and inland to Comptche.  We share progressive democratic values and a positive proactive vision for the future.  Our mission is to encourage activism, promote voter registration and turnout, and to elect progressive candidates at all levels of government.

We enjoy close relationships with our Congressman Jared Huffman, State Senator Mike McGuire, and State Assemblymember Jim Wood. Club members include Supervisors Dan Gjerde, 4th District, and Ted Williams, 5th District and Fort Bragg City Councilmember Tess Albin-Smith.

A Leadership Team (LT) prepares Club programs and makes recommendations to members concerning candidate endorsements, positions on issues, and focused election activities. Final decisions on Club actions are made by the Club membership.

Club LT Members are:

Karen Bowers, Chair

Lee Finney, Vice Chair

Jane Person, Secretary, Central Committee

Jim Havlena, Financial Liaison

Susan Savage, Central Committee Elections Chair

Kathy Wylie, Tech Advisor
